Description
The Beginner Hand Piecing Tea Set Workshop is a welcoming, in-person class designed for anyone curious about hand sewing a quilt block based project. You’ll walk away with foundational skills, a completed Tea Set that included 4 Coasters and a Tea Mat, and the confidence to start your own quilting projects — no experience required.
Date: Saturday, April 25th 2026, Time: 10am – 1pm, Place: Revive Art & Craft Supply, 149 William St. Middletown, CT 06457 in the new beautiful front room studio space, LOTS of light!
We’re putting away the machines and slowing down to learn the timeless art of hand-piecing. We will be hand sewing the classic Nine Patch block—the foundation of our Heirloom Tea Set.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
• Hand sewing basics, including threading, knotting, stitches and lots more
• How to piece simple patchwork blocks
• Pressing techniques for a neat finish
• How to layer, assemble, and complete small tie quilted projects
Each student will receive a complete kit with pre-cut fabrics (you’ll have a variety of fabrics to choose from) and all necessary materials including batting, needles, pins thread, pearl cotton, etc.
(Please bring your own small scissors.)
Whether you’ve never picked up a needle or just want to swap the roar of a motor for a quiet morning of stitching, this class is for you. You’ll learn how to mark your seams, achieve the perfect running stitch, and nest your seams for a crisp finish.
