This heirloom-style tomato pincushion is handmade by me using a mix of vintage fabrics and hand/machine stitching.

The tomato & strawberry are made from 100% vintage woven plaid in rich, navy, blue and tan tones. The sweet little attached strawberry is filled with emory to keep your needles sharp.

The strawberry & tomato are topped with yo-yos made from vintage Smithsonian fabric, The Rising Sun design and the vintage woven plaid. The top of the tomato is finished with hand-dyed ribbon for an old-fashioned, authentic look.

I finished the bottom of the tomato with an antique Mother of Pearl button.
